The Annual Capstone Award

At Dermody Properties we believe it is our responsibility to share our success with the communities in which we do business. The Capstone gift began in 2007 as a way to say “thank you” to a community that helps our business thrive. Each year during the Thanksgiving season, Dermody Properties makes a substantial donation to one or more nonprofit organizations to help them continue their good works throughout the holiday season. 

Our first capstone gift was dedicated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to help them open their new facility – a 60,000 square foot distribution center that allowed them to begin distributing 6 million pounds of food per year. In 2012, the Capstone Award was expanded nationally to include two food banks providing aid to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada was awarded $20,000 for their High School and Middle School Pantry Program in the Washoe County School District. The Food Bank of South Jersey and the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties were each awarded $15,000 to continue their services.
